Media Accreditation

All members of the media who wish to cover the Los Angeles County Air Show must obtain official media accreditation. Accreditation is reserved for working journalists, photographers, videographers, and other editorial personnel representing recognized news outlets. Freelance media professionals may be considered on a case-by-case basis with proof of assignment from a publication or broadcaster.

To apply, please complete the media accreditation form available on this website during the application window, which typically opens several weeks before the event. Applicants should provide a letter of assignment on outlet letterhead, a government-issued photo ID, and examples of recent relevant work. Accreditation decisions are communicated by email, and approved media will receive a confirmation with details on credential pickup, media parking, and access hours.

Approved media credentials provide access to designated media areas, press conferences, and photo opportunities as determined by the air show’s media relations team. Credentials are non-transferable and must be worn visibly at all times. The Los Angeles County Air Show reserves the right to deny or revoke accreditation for any reason, including failure to comply with on-site media guidelines.

  • Submit application before the posted deadline.
  • Provide proof of professional affiliation.
  • Receive confirmation and pickup instructions.
  • Adhere to all media guidelines during the event.

Media Resources and Downloads

The Los Angeles County Air Show offers a comprehensive selection of media resources designed to support news coverage before, during, and after the event. Our online press room serves as a central hub for press releases, fact sheets, event schedules, and high-resolution imagery. These materials are available for editorial use by accredited media and are regularly updated as new information becomes available.

For visual assets, please visit our Media Approved Photos page, where you can download high-resolution photos of aircraft, performers, and past events. These images are cleared for publication with proper attribution. Additionally, our Downloadable Logo page provides the official air show logo in various formats for use in articles, broadcast graphics, and digital media. If you need promotional materials such as posters or programs, they can be found on the Posters and Program page.

All media resources are provided free of charge for editorial purposes only. Commercial use, including advertising, merchandising, or endorsement, requires prior written permission from the Los Angeles County Air Show. We encourage media outlets to credit the Los Angeles County Air Show when using our materials and to link back to our website when possible.

On-Site Media Guidelines

To ensure the safety of all participants and facilitate smooth media operations, the Los Angeles County Air Show has established clear guidelines for on-site media personnel. All media representatives are expected to follow these rules, which are designed to protect both journalists and event operations. Failure to comply may result in removal from the premises and revocation of credentials.

Media must wear their credentials at all times and remain within designated media areas unless accompanied by an air show media escort. Certain areas, such as the flight line, aircraft parking ramps, and performer staging zones, are restricted and require specific authorization. Photography and videography are permitted in most public areas, but some displays or aircraft may have restrictions imposed by owners or military authorities. Always check with media relations staff before capturing sensitive material.

For safety reasons, drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) are strictly prohibited on or near the air show grounds without explicit permission from air show management and the FAA. Any media outlet wishing to use a drone must obtain prior approval and comply with all applicable regulations. Additionally, media are asked to respect performer and organizer requests regarding interview timing and locations. All interviews should be scheduled through the media relations team to avoid conflicts with performance schedules.

Press Kit

The Los Angeles County Air Show press kit is a valuable resource for journalists looking to develop in-depth stories. It includes a comprehensive overview of the event, its history, mission, and community impact. The kit also contains key facts and figures, such as attendance estimates, economic impact, and the number of performers and volunteers. In addition, it features biographies of headline performers, a detailed schedule of flying displays and ground activities, and high-resolution images for publication.

Press kits are available in digital format and can be requested by accredited media through the media resources section of this website. Once approved, a download link will be provided. Printed press kits are not distributed on-site; all materials are provided electronically to minimize environmental impact and ensure the most current information is available. Should you require specific materials not included in the press kit, please contact the media relations team, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.

We recommend that journalists download the press kit in advance of the event to familiarize themselves with the air show’s story angles and key personnel. This will enable more efficient coverage and facilitate better interview planning. Press kits are updated regularly as new announcements are made, so please check back often for the latest version.
